bedroom wall

This is a follow up post that I felt was relevant to my previous post on my new floating ledges. . .On one wall in my bedroom I created a wall display with several different size and style frames and a 12" natural cedar ledge.

Although a few of the frames are rustic the clean way they are displayed creates a modern look. . . The ledge creates great depth and visual interest on the wall.

Floating ledges

Great for creating visual interest on the wall next to framed art. . .

I have been working on adding to our current product offering with the addition of floating wall ledges. Initially they will come in two sizes and two finishes. A natural brown cedar finish and a rustic black finish. Each ledge is made of solid cedar wood and has hidden flush hardware on the back for easy hanging. Like all of our frames, the ledges can be built to any length. They will be offered in our shop within a week.

12" (rustic black or brown) - $25.99
24" (rustic black or brown) - $37.99

Christmas and Looking forward to the New Year

I have recently made some adjustments to the blog, in an attempt to make it more appealing to all my readers and easier for you all to follow. . .As we head into the new year, one of my *important* business goals for 2010 to to average 4 blog posts a month (average of one per week).

This will be a definite challenge, but I believe it is an achievable and rewarding goal!

I have been very busy filling orders for the holidays, which have been awesome! . . .I am so excited with where the business is headed and the many new frame styles that will be introduced very soon. . .Also I am researching tools that will increase efficiency in production and quality in my frames to bring added value to all my customers. . .I will be sure to post more information about the changes in equipment and tools when I begin to take the move.

I am so blessed to get to spend Christmas with my family and friends!

10:1 ratio

10:1 ratio

The 10:1 ratio is set up, so that every 10 frames I sell, I will donate 1 frame to a deserving cause. . .Because this is a new charitable outlet for me, I am still brainstorming all of the possible places that I want to give back to. For starters I am donating frames to a few local area schools. I will be updating this section of the website soon, with more details and pictures.

Today I am working on building 30 frames for my 10:1 donation ratio. . .I plan to donate them to two elementary school classes. . .Here is the style frame that I am building, but in a 4x6" size

Hopefully when the kids are done "painting/decorating/covering" these frames, they won't look anything like they do now. . . I can't wait to post more pictures of the finished frames.

Picture frames are better in 3's

I have started to post mirrors and frames in sets of threes. . . Below are some links to my frames that are in threes. . .When posting these in my www.DAcustomframes.etsy.com shop I have made listings for three frames where individual prices are reduced due to buying in bulk.

3 frames grouped together make a huge impact on any wall in any room. . . All the frames I sell have the versatility to hang vertically or horizontally

The set of frames can make a modern touch or rustic touch due to the repetition of the frames in a rustic dark walnut distressed pine finish.
